    Windows 10 is free to use but without a license (it being activated) there might be some basic things and you won't be able to customize your display to your taste. You won't also be able to customize the taskbar, toolbar, and many other things that actually need customizations and some tweaking to look just the way you want it.  

But there are ways to activate windows for free not paying the cost of a windows license which cost some good money.

follow these simple steps to activate your windows 10 in under 3 munites. 

there are several methods but in this post, I would be taking you through the easiest which is using CMD and the application present on your laptop. 

this method works for all versions of windows 10.

Step 1. On the start menu of your laptop. type cmd in the search bar. right click and run as administrator.

and select yes when the dialogue box pops up.

    

Step 2. Next is to get your product key. which can be done by doing the following. but before we

check for the product key you ought to know which version of windows you running following the steps below.

 >open the run box by holding down; 

+     R       keys. in the run windows type WINVER and hit enter on your keyboard or click ok.

and a message should pop up with your windows version. you can match your version to a key from the list of windows version keys from here.

or

another way would be to click on your windows key, 

then open up cmd and copy and paste the command below. 

wmic path softwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey

the first set of numbers and letters is your product key. 

input in the bracket above that says { input product key here...} but exclude the brackets  {}.

Step 3. in your Command Prompt type in the following exactly as you see it: SLMGR /IPK {Input  your product key here} and hit the ENTER key on your keyboard. 

Step 4. next in the cmd windows input the code slmgr /skms kms8.msguides.com and hit the enter

key. 

when the dialogue box comes up. click on ok.

step 5. this is the last step. copy and paste the following code into your cmd. 

                 slmgr /ato and click enter on your keyboard. 

and you are all done! your windows have been activated permanently. for good.
