With the emergence of new social media apps and the increasing insecurity as well as the error of Facebook which of course includes the platform constantly blocking accounts because of no valid reason and it being over thrilled by the aging population. the platform has hit rock bottom in terms of the number of teenagers that make use of it according to research carried out by the Pew Research Center. 

1,316 U.S. teens between the ages of 13 and 17 were questioned about their online habits and it was found that just 32% of them use the Facebook app and most of them prefer platforms like youtube, TikTok Instagram, and Snapchat. TikTok boosting is the top of all. with about 67% saying they ever use TikTok and 16% admonishing that they use it almost constantly.

youtube holds the top position in terms of the online landscape amongst the other social platforms having up to a 95% of teens making use of it. 


these results are of great contrast to that of their previous survey which they took in 2014-15 
youtube dropped from 71%  in the survey and is now at 32%.

despite the fact of youtube not really being a social media platform, it amazes most teens mainly because of its highly rich video content.
